NTPC Green Energy (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), has successfully commissioned a 14 MW segment of the Ayodhya solar photovoltaic (PV) project.
NGEL, the green energy arm of the company, is in the process of establishing a larger 40 MW solar project in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. Following the successful commissioning and necessary approvals, the initial segment of 14 MW out of the total 40 MW capacity of the solar PV project has been declared operational as of January 27, 2024.
This development contributes to the growing renewable energy capacity of the NTPC Group, which now stands at an impressive 73,888 MW of installed and commercial capacity.
In line with its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio, NGEL will continue to pursue initiatives such as renewable energy parks and projects. Additionally, the company will explore opportunities in emerging sectors such as green hydrogen, energy storage technologies, and the provision of round-the-clock renewable energy power solutions.
