NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has initiated a competitive bidding process for the development of a 1,200 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected wind energy project in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The company has included a greenshoe option of up to 300 MW in the tender.
Prospective bidders are invited to participate in this initiative until December 28, 2023. The project encompasses comprehensive tasks, including the design, engineering, and implementation of the wind farm. Critical components such as internal evacuation lines, monitoring infrastructure, and transmission connections are integral parts of the project scope.
Key prerequisites for interested bidders include a proven track record in executing wind projects, expertise in micro-siting, and the capability to secure land for turbines. Eligibility criteria also allow for developers experienced in grid-connected wind projects, outlining specific requirements for project capacity and operational history.
Prospective bidders should have experience in industrial projects related to power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemicals, fertilizer, cement, or other process industries. Additionally, the completion of a 33 kV or higher electrical substation and meeting financial stability metrics are essential for participation.
Interested parties are required to demonstrate a minimum annual turnover based on the quoted capacity and maintain a positive net worth at the end of the preceding financial year. Scheduled to open on December 28, 2023, NTPC Renewable Energy's tender aims to significantly contribute to the expansion of India's wind energy capacity.
