The Odisha government has cleared seven major industrial projects involving a total investment of Rs 55,783 crore, with the potential to generate 14,507 jobs across the state.
The approvals were granted at a meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Emphasising the state’s long-term development goals, Majhi said the clearances reflect Odisha’s focus on building a strong, self-reliant economy and achieving “Samruddha Odisha” by 2036.
The approved projects span multiple sectors, including steel, rare earth manufacturing, automobiles, semiconductors, industrial gases, ferroalloys, power, and renewable energy.
Among the largest proposals is Saffron Resources’ plan to set up a six million tonnes per annum (MTPA) steel plant in Dhenkanal at an investment of Rs 35,000 crore, expected to create around 8,000 jobs. Other notable projects include Jindal Poly Films’ titanium dioxide pigment plant in Ganjam and Sancode Semi’s semiconductor manufacturing unit in Khurda, along with ferroalloy and power projects in several districts across Odisha.
