OMC Aims for ₹30,000 Crore Revenue & 50 MT Production in FY26

The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has set an ambitious target of producing 50 million tonnes of minerals and generating ₹30,000 crore in sales revenue for the financial year 2025–26. The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan on July 10, 2025.

To achieve this goal, the meeting focused on key strategies including the extension of mining lease periods, securing environmental clearances, and operationalising new mines. A major decision was to increase bauxite production from the current 3.6 million tonnes per year to 6 million tonnes within the ongoing fiscal year.

The establishment of a pellet plant under OMC was also discussed. Mecon India has been assigned to prepare the techno-economic feasibility report, and a dedicated project committee has been constituted. The plant is expected to commence operations by May 2026.

Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of inclusive development in mining regions, directing OMC to focus on improving local livelihoods, enhancing forest resource development, and generating employment. He also called for greater convergence of government schemes to maximize developmental impact in mining-affected areas.
