Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) has selected BP Exploration Services India, a wholly owned step-down subsidiary of BP plc, as the technical services provider (TSP) for its western offshore fields, excluding the Mumbai High field.
Under the arrangement, the TSP will evaluate field performance and recommend improvements across reservoirs, production facilities, and wells, with the aim of enhancing hydrocarbon output from ONGC’s western offshore assets.
ONGC stated that BPXS has estimated a potential increase of about 10.8% in crude oil production over the 10-year contract period, with output rising from a baseline of 46.25 million tonnes to 51.26 million tonnes. Gas production is also projected to increase by roughly 31.5%, from 82.68 billion cubic metres to 108.69 billion cubic metres over the same period.
