Navin Fluorine International has entered a strategic partnership with The Chemours Company to manufacture Opteon, a proprietary two-phase immersion cooling fluid developed by Chemours, at a new facility in Surat, Gujarat.
This collaboration supports the advancement of liquid cooling technologies essential for the growing thermal management needs of modern data centres and AI infrastructure. Opteon is engineered to enhance energy efficiency, reduce water usage, and minimize data centre footprint, aligning with the demand for sustainable, high-performance cooling solutions.
The Surat facility will serve as the initial production site for Opteon, with operations expected to commence in the first quarter of FY27 (April–June 2026). The project entails a total capital investment of USD 14 million (approximately Rs 120 crore).
Chemours will contribute USD 5 million (around Rs 43 crore) to the project, while Navin Fluorine will fund the balance through internal accruals and debt.
Both companies envision a long-term collaboration, anticipating rising demand for efficient, scalable cooling technologies. For Chemours, this partnership establishes a strong manufacturing presence in India to support global demand for its cutting-edge Opteon fluid.
