The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has proposed the construction of a new road overbridge (RoB) at Patigadda to alleviate traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity.
Estimated at ₹108.02 crore, the project will feature a four-lane structure with two lanes in each direction, a central median, and dedicated footpaths. The RoB is designed to ensure seamless traffic movement between PV Narasimha Rao Marg, Patigadda, Rasoolpura, and Sardar Patel Road, while also reducing travel distance between Narasimha Rao Street and Minister Road.
The proposal is supported by a traffic study indicating that passenger car unit (PCU) volumes are expected to increase from 3,081 at present to 4,764 in the coming years. Of the total project cost, ₹94.5 crore is earmarked for construction, with ₹8.85 crore allocated for land acquisition and ₹4.67 crore for utility shifting.
