PFCCL Powers Up Maharashtra with New Transmission SPVs

PFC Consulting (PFCCL), a subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), has established two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for developing transmission systems in Maharashtra.

NES Dharashiv Transmission has been set up to expand the transmission network and enable the evacuation of renewable energy (RE) power from Dharashiv in Beed district. Meanwhile, NES Navi Mumbai Transmission will implement a network expansion project to ensure a stable power supply for data center loads in Navi Mumbai.

On January 17, 2025, Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL) issued a letter of intent (LoI), appointing PFCCL as the bid process coordinator (BPC) for selecting transmission service providers (TSPs). This selection will be conducted through a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process.

The SPVs will be transferred to the successful bidders through international competitive bidding under the Ministry of Power's TBCB guidelines.
