PJR Flyover Opens: Hyderabad's Traffic Takes Flight!

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the long-awaited PJR Flyover in Hyderabad on 28 June 2025, marking a major milestone in the city’s infrastructure development. The six-lane, bi-directional flyover stretches from Shilpa Layout Phase 2 to Gachibowli Junction, forming a vital link through the heart of Hyderabad’s fast-expanding IT corridor.

Constructed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the flyover is strategically designed to ease chronic traffic congestion and improve flow between key tech and business zones including Kondapur, Madhapur, Hitec City, and the Financial District. Named in honor of the late Congress leader and former minister P. Janardhan Reddy (PJR), the structure stands as a tribute to his enduring contributions to the city’s growth.

The new corridor addresses long-standing traffic bottlenecks along the Gachibowli-Kondapur stretch, an area witnessing sharp rises in vehicular movement due to rapid urbanization and IT expansion. “This flyover is a significant step toward transforming urban mobility and easing the daily commute for thousands,” said CM Revanth Reddy at the inauguration.

With reduced travel times, improved safety, and smoother connectivity, the PJR Flyover is set to benefit thousands of commuters daily, reinforcing Hyderabad’s status as a leading tech-driven metropolis.
