Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹8,260 crore during his visit to Dehradun on November 9, 2025, marking the 25th Foundation Day of Uttarakhand.
At the Forest Research Institute (FRI), the Prime Minister released a commemorative postal stamp and addressed a large public gathering as the chief guest. The initiatives span key sectors including drinking water, irrigation, energy, urban development, technical education, sports, and skill development.
Among the major inaugurations were the Dehradun Water Supply Project under AMRUT, a new power substation in Pithoragarh, solar plants on government buildings, and an AstroTurf hockey field at Haldwani Stadium.
The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stones for the Song Dam and Jamrani Multipurpose Dam projects, which will enhance water supply, irrigation, and power generation across the region. Additional projects include a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, a modern dairy plant in Nainital, and new electric substations, underscoring the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and inclusive growth in the hill state.
