PM Modi to Launch ₹17,900 Cr Southern Infra Engine

In a major boost to regional infrastructure, technology, and cultural heritage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on Saturday to unveil initiatives totaling over ₹17,900 crore.

The day will begin in Andhra Pradesh, where the Prime Minister will dedicate the newly constructed Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram to the nation. Built under a PPP model for ₹5,640 crore, the state-of-the-art greenfield airport is designed to serve six million passengers annually.

Advancing India's tech footprint, PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the ₹460 crore ASIP Semiconductor facility in Visakhapatnam, marking the state's first chip manufacturing plant. Additional infrastructure pushes include nearly ₹9,900 crore in power transmission projects for renewable energy and over ₹1,880 crore dedicated to key National Highway enhancements.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will travel to Mysuru, Karnataka, to inaugurate the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Youth Centre (Viveka Smaraka). Commemorating Swami Vivekananda’s 1892 visit, the 81,000 sq ft facility at Niranjana Math combines modern educational resources—including a 4D experience center, yoga hall, and competitive exam prep facilities—with value-based leadership programs aimed at empowering over 10,000 youth annually.
