The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced a comprehensive plan to upgrade the water supply infrastructure in Keshavnagar, a locality that has faced persistent shortages since its inclusion within PMC limits in 2017.
In the first phase, the civic body will lay 10–12 km of new pipelines and construct an overhead water storage tank with an allocation of ₹35 crore. The entire project, estimated to cost ₹130 crore, will include the development of four overhead tanks and an extension of the water distribution network to ensure consistent supply across the area.
PMC is also evaluating the construction of a water tank on one of its designated amenity plots to enhance storage capacity. Meanwhile, residents have expressed urgency for the project’s commencement, particularly in neighbourhoods experiencing acute water shortages.
