Powering the Future: Mafatlal Commissions 4 MWp Solar Plant

Mafatlal Industries Limited has commissioned a 4 MWp captive ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant at its manufacturing facility in Nadiad, Gujarat, marking a significant step in its sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

Developed with an investment of around ₹11 crore, the solar project is expected to generate approximately 66 lakh kWh of net usable electricity annually. The renewable power will meet a portion of the plant's energy requirements, reducing dependence on conventional grid electricity while lowering operating costs.

The project is expected to improve the company's cost competitiveness by reducing energy expenses, a key cost component in textile manufacturing. It will also help lower carbon emissions, reinforcing Mafatlal Industries' commitment to environmentally responsible operations.

The commissioning forms part of the company's broader strategy to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen manufacturing competitiveness, and drive sustainable long-term growth while creating value for customers, shareholders, employees, and the communities it serves.
