Prayagraj’s Rs 1,948-Cr Ganga Bridge Enters Final Stretch

The newly completed six-lane extradosed bridge over the Ganga in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is currently undergoing final load testing ahead of its phased opening in November 2026. Built by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) at an estimated cost of Rs 1,948 crore, the 9.8-km infrastructure project features a 3.84-km main bridge structure complemented by comprehensive approach roads. As Uttar Pradesh's first six-lane extradosed bridge, it is engineered to significantly improve regional connectivity toward Lucknow, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, and Ayodhya while easing traffic congestion.
