Puducherry's ₹436 Crore NH-32 Elevated Corridor Approved

The Central Government has approved ₹436.18 crore for the construction of a 3.877 km elevated corridor and grade separator connecting Indira Gandhi Square to Rajiv Gandhi Square along NH-66 (New NH-32) in Puducherry.

The four-lane project, developed entirely within the existing Right of Way, includes a 1.821 km elevated section designed to decongest one of Puducherry’s busiest routes. Strategically placed ramps will ensure seamless access to Villupuram (NH-332), Tindivanam (NH-32), and the city bus stand, enhancing traffic flow and reducing travel time.

The project prioritizes road safety and accessibility, incorporating pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, and service lanes.

In addition, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a 46 km four-lane expansion of NH-332A between Marakkanam and Puducherry, aimed at boosting regional connectivity and facilitating access to key economic zones and logistics hubs.
