Punjab's Sporting Leap: 3,100 Stadiums Take Center Stage

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, along with AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal, laid the foundation stone for 3,100 multi-purpose sports stadiums across the state during a ceremony held on October 9, 2025, at Kaljharani village in Bathinda.

The ₹1,194 crore initiative aims to strengthen rural sports infrastructure and nurture young talent by providing modern facilities for sports such as hockey, volleyball, football, and athletics. CM Mann stated that the project is designed to encourage a healthy lifestyle among youth and revive Punjab’s rich sporting legacy, drawing inspiration from the success of the state’s renowned athletes.

As part of the same event, CM Mann also launched the Entrepreneurship Mindset Course, which will be introduced in universities and technical institutions across Punjab. The course is aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurial thinking, and self-employment opportunities among students.
