RailTel wins Rs 66 crore order for integrated tunnel communication system

RailTel Corporation of India (RTCI) has successfully secured a work order valued at Rs 66.83 crore from Northeast Frontier Railway Construction. The contract entails the supply and implementation of an Integrated Tunnel Communication System (ITCS) in the Bhairabi-Sairang New Single Line section of Lumding Division.

Under this agreement, RTCI will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of the ITCS, emergency call arrangements within tunnels, and the deployment of an Integrated Passenger Information System (IPIS) at stations. The project is expected to be completed within a timeframe of 365 days from the date of signing the Letter of Award (LoA).

RailTel, renowned as a neutral telecom infrastructure provider, boasts a pan-India optical fiber network. This extensive network encompasses key towns, cities, and numerous rural areas, catering to 70 percent of the country's population.
