Rajahmundry Rising: New Airport Terminal Opening Soon!

The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district is nearing completion, with Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu confirming that it will be inaugurated shortly.

Construction work on the facility is progressing at a rapid pace, and officials have been instructed to ensure completion by 31 March. The Minister recently conducted an on-site inspection to assess construction progress and held discussions with officials from the Airports Authority of India and representatives of the executing agency to review project timelines and operational preparedness.

Once operational, the new terminal is expected to enhance passenger handling capacity, improve airport facilities, and support the region’s growing air traffic demand.

The project forms part of a broader initiative to modernise regional airports and strengthen air connectivity across Andhra Pradesh. Commenting on the development, Minister Naidu said, “The new terminal at Rajahmundry Airport is nearing completion and will be inaugurated shortly, as works are moving ahead at a brisk pace.”
