Rajasthan Powers Up: 4,780 Hectares Allotted for Massive Solar Push!

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has given approval for the allocation of 4,780 hectares of land to develop four solar projects in the state. This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing Rajasthan's self-reliance in the energy sector.

According to the proposal, Rajasthan Solar Park Development Company will utilize 4,780 hectares to establish three solar parks with a cumulative capacity of 2,450 MW in Bikaner district. Additionally, NTPC Renewable Energy has been allotted about 910 hectares in Phalodi district to set up a 500 MW solar project. These projects are expected to attract investments totaling approximately Rs 10,000 crore into the state.

In Bikaner district, two solar parks of 1,000 MW each and one park of 450 MW will be developed. The first 1,000 MW solar park will occupy 1,881 hectares in Surasar village of Pugal tehsil. The second park, also 1,000 MW, will span 2,000 hectares, including 1,194 hectares in Surasar village and 807 hectares in Bhanavatawala village. The third park, with a capacity of 450 MW, will be established across 900 hectares in Sardarpura village.

These solar parks will be executed by Rajasthan Akshay Urja Nigam in three phases under the Solar Park Scheme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), aiming for completion within the next two years.

Furthermore, CM Bhajanlal Sharma has sanctioned 910 hectares in Bhadla village of Phalodi district to NTPC Renewable Energy for the 500 MW solar project. These initiatives are not only anticipated to bolster the state's energy independence but also play a crucial role in environmental conservation, reducing carbon emissions by approximately two lakh tonnes annually.

In addition to their environmental benefits, these projects are set to generate employment opportunities locally and stimulate economic activities in the region. This move is part of the state government's broader strategy to promote renewable energy and attract substantial investments in Rajasthan's burgeoning energy sector.
