The Rajasthan government has signed 1,600 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), proposing investments exceeding ₹1.37 trillion in the tourism sector as part of its strategy to drive tourism-led economic growth.
Signed during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit in December 2024, the MoUs cover a wide range of projects including hotels, resorts, heritage properties, wellness centres, and eco-tourism hubs. According to Rukmani Riar, Commissioner of the Department of Tourism, these initiatives are expected to create employment for nearly 1.9 lakh people upon completion.
Out of the total, 29 projects are already operational, and 213 have reached the groundbreaking stage. To accelerate implementation, the state government is actively engaging with investors. A recent high-level meeting in Jaipur convened 79 MoU holders to resolve execution challenges and enhance inter-departmental coordination. The government is also providing policy incentives and infrastructure support to fast-track tourism infrastructure development.
