State-run REC has expanded its footprint with the incorporation of a new project-specific subsidiary, Nawada Durgapur Power Transmission. Formed on July 10, 2026, the entity operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) with an initial authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5 lakh.
The Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) was set up to execute the ERES-47 Nawada–Durgapur–Jeerat (New) 765kV transmission corridor, which was officially gazetted by the Ministry of Power on March 24, 2026. RECPDCL is acting as the bid process coordinator under the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. In line with standard sector practices, the SPV, along with its full assets and liabilities, will be handed over to the successful bidder post-tender to enhance India's interstate power transmission infrastructure.
