Reliance Pours $600 Cr+ into Andhra Pradesh Beverage Hub

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has received approval to set up an integrated beverage manufacturing facility at Orvakal in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. The proposed unit will manufacture carbonated soft drinks, fruit juices, and packaged drinking water, and is expected to generate around 1,200 employment opportunities.

To support the project, the Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned an incentive package of up to Rs 601.87 crore, making it one of the largest recent investments in the region. The proposal was initially reviewed by the State Investment Promotion Committee in November and subsequently approved by the State Investment Promotion Board in December under the state’s Special Food Processing Policy (4.0) for 2024–29.

The incentives include a 15 percent capital subsidy, 100 percent reimbursement of net SGST for five years (up to Rs 493.95 crore), power cost reimbursement of Rs 1 per unit, and a matching electricity duty rebate. A company spokesperson said the state’s support would help accelerate RCPL’s investment plans while significantly boosting local employment.
