Roca splashes Rs 400 crore in Tamil Nadu for high-tech push

Sanitaryware major Roca Group has announced a significant investment of Rs 400 crore in Tamil Nadu, focusing on advancing process automation, expanding capacity, and upgrading its Global Technical Centre. The declaration was made during discussions with State Chief Minister MK Stalin and visiting delegates at the investment conclave in Madrid, Spain, on January 30, 2024.

The allocated investment will be directed towards the Perundurai facility, specifically for the process automation of plastics and sanitaryware, as well as the expansion of capacity for pipes and fittings. Additionally, there will be an upgrade to the Global Technical Centre located in Sriperumbudur. The entire investment is projected to be completed by the end of the year.

Roca India is dedicated to further investments in process automation, particularly for exporting products to Europe and Australia. The company also plans to modernize its manufacturing units to meet the growing consumer demand.

Roca Bathroom Products, operating under the brand names Laufen, Roca, Parryware, and Johnson Pedder, has a total of nine factories, with four situated in Tamil Nadu—Ranipet, Perundurai, Sriperumbudur, and Irungattukottai.

In alignment with India's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions, seven out of the nine factories in the country are partially powered by solar energy, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy source.
