Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) is set to develop a landmark corporate office building at Malet Bunder in Mumbai Port, with an estimated investment of Rs 1,000 crore.
The high-rise structure, exceeding 20 floors, will be constructed on a 12,804 sq. m (3.16-acre) plot near the Ferry Wharf and Domestic Cruise Terminal. Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) has leased the land to JNPA for this purpose. With a Floor Space Index (FSI) of 4.0, the building will encompass approximately nine lakh sq. ft. of built-up area, including land, interiors, and amenities.
Designed as JNPA’s corporate headquarters, the building will also house key port-related organizations such as DG Shipping, IPGL, and IPRCL. Notable features include a digital observatory on the top floor and an auditorium with a 2,000-person capacity on the ground floor.
According to JNPA Chairperson Unmesh Sharad Wagh, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW) has granted in-principle approval for the project. Engineers India Ltd (EIL) has been appointed as the project consultant, overseeing detailed design, engineering, construction, and project management.
JNPA plans to complete the project within two years after obtaining all required approvals.
