Rs 122 Cr Sanctioned for Barbil-Bolanikhadan Rail Doubling

Indian Railways has sanctioned Rs 122 crore to double the 6 km Barbil-Bolanikhadan section under South Eastern Railway, strengthening a vital mineral corridor. Currently a single-line stretch handling 9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA)—mostly iron ore and pellets from SAIL's Bolani mines—the expansion will eliminate bottlenecks, boost freight capacity, and slash transit delays. Part of the Energy, Mineral and Cement Corridor project, this upgrade proactively supports surging industrial demand across the region.
