At the closing ceremony of the International Kullu Dasehra Festival, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced major infrastructure investments aimed at improving water supply and disaster resilience in Kullu district.
Speaking at Atal Sadan, the Deputy CM committed ₹200 crore for upgrading drinking water facilities, ensuring residents have access to clean and uninterrupted water supply. An additional ₹158 crore has been earmarked for disaster mitigation, with a focus on flood protection and control measures.
Agnihotri also highlighted the completion of key flood-control projects, including:
₹8.73 crore at Raison, ₹8.65 crore in Manali, ₹4.35 crore near Lanka Bekar Gaushala
He assured that the remaining ₹58 crore from the disaster mitigation fund will be utilised for similar protective infrastructure across the district, reinforcing the government's commitment to sustainable development and public safety.
