₹29 Crore Deal Fuels TASL's Aerospace Ambitions in Vemgal

Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) has acquired a 7.4 lakh sq. ft. plot in Karnataka’s Vemgal Industrial Area to set up an advanced aircraft manufacturing and final assembly line, along with maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities.

The Rs 29.34 crore deal, facilitated by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), represents a significant step in strengthening India’s aerospace sector. Located strategically along the Kolar-Chikkaballapur Road (SH-96) within a 666-acre industrial area, the site is approximately 10 km from the Narasapura and Jakkasandra industrial hubs. This new facility is expected to enhance the country’s aircraft production capabilities and create employment opportunities in the region.

The Vemgal plant is poised to play a key role in boosting India's position within the global aerospace supply chain, supporting the government's "Make in India" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" initiatives. With Bengaluru already a major aerospace and defense hub, Karnataka continues to attract substantial investments in these sectors.

Following the acquisition, TASL plans to commence construction soon, further advancing India’s indigenous aircraft production and defense manufacturing capacity to meet the growing global demand for aerospace technology.
