₹300 Crore Spark: Welspun’s New Vision for Deoghar

Welspun World has committed to investing ₹300 crore in Jharkhand’s plastic manufacturing sector, with a focus on PVC-based plastics at the proposed Deoghar Plastic Park.

The company is also exploring investment opportunities in critical minerals and logistics, sectors that are increasingly vital to India’s industrial expansion and energy transition. During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Welspun World’s Founder Chairman B. K. Goenka met Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who outlined the state’s industrial infrastructure, policy incentives, and ease-of-doing-business initiatives. Welspun World expressed strong interest in the plastic park and indicated plans to diversify into additional sectors within the state.

In a separate interaction, the company held discussions with Yusuff Ali, Founder of the Lulu Group, to explore potential partnerships for promoting Jharkhand’s agriculture and forest-based products, aimed at generating direct economic benefits for local farmers and communities. “We are excited about the opportunities in Jharkhand’s industrial and agricultural sectors,” Goenka said.
