Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects in Varanasi worth over ₹3,880 crore. Emphasizing improved road connectivity, he launched key infrastructure works, including a road bridge linking the Varanasi Ring Road to Sarnath, flyovers at Bhikharipur and Manduadih, and a highway underpass near Varanasi International Airport on NH-31—together valued at over ₹980 crore.
In the power sector, the PM inaugurated two 400 KV and one 220 KV substations with transmission lines across Jaunpur, Chandauli, and Ghazipur, with a combined investment of ₹1,045 crore. He also laid the foundation stone for additional power projects in Varanasi and Ghazipur worth ₹775 crore. Police infrastructure also received a boost with the inauguration of a transit hostel at the Police Line, new barracks at the PAC Ramnagar Campus, and the foundation laying of new administrative and residential facilities.
In the education sector, he inaugurated the Government Polytechnic College in Pindra, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Government College in Barki village, 356 rural libraries, and 100 Anganwadi centres. He also launched renovation work for 77 primary schools under the Smart City Mission and announced a new building for Kasturba Gandhi School in Cholapur.
To promote sports, the PM laid the foundation for a synthetic hockey turf with floodlights and a mini stadium in Shivpur. As part of urban redevelopment, he inaugurated revitalized riverfronts at Samne Ghat and Shastri Ghat on the Ganga, and launched 130 rural drinking water projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, valued at ₹345 crore.
