RUDRA Roars: Avalon Joins Forces with C-DAC to Build India's Supercomputers

Avalon Technologies (Avalon), a leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company, has solidified its position as a key strategic manufacturing partner for the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). This collaboration marks a significant milestone in bolstering the indigenous manufacturing capabilities of high-performance computing (HPC) systems through the 'RUDRA' program, an initiative dedicated to the design and manufacturing of supercomputers in India.

This partnership is poised to greatly enhance the indigenous research, design, and manufacturing landscape of HPC systems in India, addressing the country's diverse computing needs with critical strategic importance. The RUDRA HPC server, India’s inaugural natively designed server by C-DAC, an R&D organization under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), takes center stage in this collaborative effort.

Since 2021, Avalon has played a pivotal role as a strategic design and manufacturing partner to C-DAC, contributing expertise in PCB design and analysis, prototype PCB assemblies, cables, and sheet metal chassis. This expansion of collaboration is expected to amplify the competitive presence of the indigenously designed server, fostering innovation and growth within the field.

The RUDRA program serves as a testament to India's proficiency in designing, developing, building, and delivering cutting-edge technology. The Rudra Server, an outcome of the National Supercomputing Mission, stands as a secure server powered by the latest Intel Xeon scalable processor. With advanced features such as liquid cooling technology, the server aims to achieve superior energy efficiency, density, and architectural elements tailored to meet the requirements of various national missions. This strategic alliance between Avalon and C-DAC underscores a commitment to advancing India's technological capabilities and contributing to the success of the National Supercomputing Mission.
