Sabarmati-Style Makeover: Delhi to Transform Yamuna Riverfront

The Delhi government is planning a major Yamuna riverfront development project modeled after Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Riverfront. Divided into two phases by the Wazirabad barrage—the northern stretch from Palla to Wazirabad and the southern stretch from Wazirabad to Kalindi Kunj—the project aims to leverage technical guidance from the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Corporation. Water Minister Parvesh Verma stated that the first phase (northern stretch) will serve as a pilot model and is targeted for completion during the current term.
