Sagarmala Gets a Boost: Square Port & Damen's Strategic Collaboration

Hazoor Multi Projects' subsidiary, Square Port Shipyard, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Netherlands-based Damen Technical Cooperation, a part of the globally recognized Damen Shipyards Group NV. This strategic collaboration aims to transform the Dabhol-based shipyard in Ratnagiri into a hub for constructing vessels for both domestic and international markets.

Damen Technical Cooperation brings decades of expertise in ship design, construction, repair, conversion, and maintenance. Leveraging Damen’s advanced maritime technology, the partnership is set to significantly enhance Square Port Shipyard’s capabilities in shipbuilding and repair.

Strategically positioned on India’s western coast, Square Port Shipyard is poised to become a key player in the global maritime industry. The alliance also supports the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Sagarmala’ initiatives, reinforcing the country’s push towards becoming a self-reliant and globally competitive maritime nation.
