SBL Energy Launches New TNT Plant in Nagpur

SBL Energy has inaugurated a 3,000-tonne-per-annum TNT manufacturing plant on a 225-acre site in Yenvera, Nagpur. This strategic move aims to enhance domestic TNT production, reducing reliance on imports while bolstering supply security and cost efficiency, particularly for the defence sector.

The new facility is set to strengthen SBL Energy's order book and revenue, fueled by rising demand in infrastructure, mining, and defence industries. The company’s expansion efforts were recently bolstered by ₹325 crore in growth capital from key investors.

Sanjay Choudhari, Chairman of SBL Energy, emphasized that the plant is critical to meeting the increasing demand for explosives, driven by industrialization, infrastructure projects, and mining activities. This initiative supports the government's push for self-reliance in defence manufacturing.

In addition to TNT, the plant will support the production of various munitions, including bombs and artillery shells, contributing to the modernization of India’s defence arsenal with advanced and reliable explosives.

This development marks a significant step in SBL Energy's mission to enhance indigenous production and strengthen its position in the explosives industry.
