Scaling Up: Greater Noida’s Rs 80 Crore Infrastructure Upgrade

Construction of the 45 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) in Greater Noida West is progressing steadily, with around 40% of the work already completed.

The Rs 71 crore plant, located in Sector 1, is expected to be fully operational within six months. It will relieve pressure on the existing sewage infrastructure, which has been overburdened. In parallel, a master sewage pumping station (MSPS) is being developed at a cost of approximately Rs 9 crore and is expected to be completed within three months.

Once operational, the STP and MSPS will treat sewage from multiple sectors, including Sectors 1, 2, 3, 4, parts of Techzone 4 and 7, as well as nearby villages. The project is aimed at enhancing sewage treatment, reducing the environmental impact of untreated waste, preventing groundwater contamination, and mitigating pollution in local drains.
