South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has invited tenders for a grid-connected 5 MW ground-mounted solar power plant in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. This tender includes the planning, design, and installation of a solar power plant with 5 MW (AC) / 6.75 MW (DC) capacity. It also includes ten years of operation and maintenance of the Vivek Nagar Mines in the Sohagpur area. The project, valued at ₹44.85 crores, aims to bolster SECL's renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India's sustainable energy goals.
The tender reflects SECL's commitment to renewable energy, aligning with its broader strategy to develop 600 MW of solar power projects across its operational areas in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. These projects are part of SECL’s diversification efforts to achieve net-zero energy status and support Coal India's larger goal of installing 3 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2026.
The grid-connected solar plant project in Shahdol is a significant step in SECL's renewable energy initiatives. The company has been actively commissioning various solar projects, including rooftop solar installations, and exploring innovative solutions like floating solar power plants to maximize renewable energy generation.
Interested parties must submit their bids by July 27, 2024, for the opportunity to participate in this transformative project. This tender not only supports SECL's sustainable energy transition but also presents a lucrative opportunity for businesses involved in solar energy projects.
