SER Floats Tender for 132 kV Traction Substation on Kharagpur-Howrah Route

South Eastern Railway (SER) has issued a tender for major electric traction work on the Kharagpur-Howrah section in the Kharagpur division. The project involves the erection, testing, and commissioning of a 132 kV traction substation, along with sectioning posts (SPs) and sub-sectioning posts (SSPs), designed for a 2x25 kV system.

The work, which is expected to enhance the efficiency of rail operations on this crucial route, covers a total distance of 3,000 MT in West Bengal. The project has been budgeted at Rs 133.31 crore and is scheduled for completion within 24 months.

This development is a significant step towards strengthening the railway infrastructure in the region, ensuring smoother and more reliable electric traction on one of the busiest sections in the country.

Bidders have until September 20, 2024, to submit their bids. The initiative reflects SER's ongoing commitment to modernizing its network to meet the growing demands of rail traffic and support regional economic growth.
