M R Krishnamurty Co-operative Sugar Mills Limited is set to launch an 85 Crore ethanol production facility in Sethiathope, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. This project is designed to produce 60,000 liters of ethanol per day, aligning with the increasing demand for biofuels in India.
The project includes the construction of a captive power plant with a capacity of 1.5 MW. This power plant will utilize the by-products of ethanol production for energy generation, ensuring an eco-friendly and sustainable operational model.
The ethanol produced at this facility will serve various markets, including the pharmaceutical and fuel industries, enhancing the mill's product portfolio and increasing its market reach. This diversification is expected to provide a stable revenue stream and strengthen the mill's financial stability.
The strategic location in Sethiathope, a region prominent for sugarcane cultivation, ensures a steady supply of raw materials. This locality advantage is anticipated to reduce transportation costs and streamline the production process, enhancing overall efficiency.
Upon completion, the ethanol project by M R Krishnamurty Co-operative Sugar Mills is expected to create significant employment opportunities in the region, boosting the local economy and supporting community development. The initiative also aligns with the government's push for greater ethanol use as part of its energy independence goals.
