Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 6 December 2025 inaugurated a bio-CNG and fertiliser plant established by Banas Dairy in Gujarat’s Vav–Tharad district, and also laid the foundation stone for a 150-tonne milk powder plant.
At the event, Shah highlighted the goals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s White Revolution 2.0, supported by programmes such as the National Gokul Mission and the National Animal Disease Control Programme. He praised Banas Dairy’s expansion, noting its turnover has grown to ₹24,000 crore, and acknowledged the contribution of the cooperative model and women workers of Banaskantha in transforming rural livelihoods. He also announced that around 250 dairy leaders from across India will visit Banaskantha in January to study its successful cooperative model.
Focusing on the new bio-CNG initiative, Shah said the project would serve as a national example for cooperatives, advancing a circular economy that enhances farmers’ incomes through the production of biogas and organic manure.
