Sharika Enterprises to Boost Shimla’s Water Supply with New Substations

Sharika Enterprises has secured a major contract from the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) to enhance Shimla's water supply infrastructure. The project involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of essential electrical components for three key substations serving the Shimla Town Water Supply Scheme. This initiative is crucial for improving the reliability and efficiency of electricity distribution to the water supply system in the region.

The scope of the contract includes the installation of 22 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) and 22/6.6 kV power transformers with capacities of 10 MVA and 6.3 MVA. These components will be deployed across three stages: Shakrori, Dwada, and Dummi, under the jurisdiction of HPSEBL Shimla. The project is expected to significantly enhance the power supply to the Lift water supply scheme, which is essential for maintaining adequate water levels in Shimla Town.
