Shivalaya Construction has successfully emerged as the L1-bidder for a significant four-laning project in Jharkhand, awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The project, valued at ₹781 crore, will be executed under the hybrid annuity mode (HAM), a popular model for infrastructure development in India.
The project involves the construction of a four-lane section of NH 43, spanning from the CG/JH Border to the Gumla-Bharda section. Specifically, the construction will cover the stretch from design chainage 0.000 at Village Katkaiya to design chainage 32.370 in Village Bharda. This section is a critical part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, a flagship program by the Indian government aimed at improving road connectivity across the country.
Shivalaya Construction’s successful bid reflects its competitive edge and expertise in executing large-scale infrastructure projects. The company’s role in this project will significantly enhance the road infrastructure in Jharkhand, improving connectivity and boosting economic activities in the region.
The hybrid annuity model (HAM) under which this project will be developed is a combination of the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model and the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model. It allows for a balanced distribution of risks between the government and the private sector, making it an attractive option for large infrastructure projects like this one.
This project win not only strengthens Shivalaya Construction’s portfolio but also underscores its growing reputation as a key player in India’s infrastructure sector. As the company embarks on this ₹781 crore venture, it is poised to contribute significantly to the nation’s road development initiatives, particularly in enhancing the transportation network in Jharkhand.
