Singrauli Mining Alert: NCL Opens Major OB Removal Tender

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has invited bids for overburden (OB) removal and associated mining services at the Jayant Open Cast Project, located in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh.

The contract, to be awarded on a percentage quote basis, involves the excavation of 107.553 million cubic metres of overburden using mechanical equipment such as excavators, dumpers, dozers, graders, and pressurised water sprinklers. The scope of work includes blast hole drilling, excavation, loading and transportation of broken rock, soil spreading, and water sprinkling at designated locations.

These activities will be carried out at the Jayant OCP over a 27-month contract period. The project is a critical part of the mine’s operations, aimed at improving efficiency in coal extraction and ensuring timely removal of overburden.

The deadline for bid submission is 21 March 2026.
