SJVN Invests Rs 1,100 Crore in Solar Energy

SJVN, through its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy (SGEL), has been granted a Letter of Intent (LoI) by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) for the establishment of a 200 MW solar power project in GUVNL Phase-XXII. The anticipated expenditure for developing this project stands at Rs 1,100 crore.

This ground-mounted solar project will be executed across India under an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. The project is slated for completion within 18 months from the date of signing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between GUVNL and SGEL, with a contractual period of 25 years.

The PPA execution hinges on the approval of tariff rates by the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC). Upon its operational commencement, the project is anticipated to yield 508.4 million units in its inaugural year, with a cumulative energy generation projection of 11,836.28 million units over a span of 25 years.
