SJVN Lights Up Bihar with 660 MW BTPP Launch

Bhupender Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN, has officially inaugurated the commercial operation of Unit-II (660 MW) at the 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project (BTPP) in Bihar.

During his visit, Mr. Gupta inspected critical operational zones, including the Ash Dyke, to review operational readiness firsthand. High-level discussions centered on strategic growth areas, encompassing land acquisition, pumped storage plant (PSP) initiatives, power purchase agreements (PPAs), renewable energy availability, and expanding investment opportunities across Bihar.

This milestone significantly strengthens regional power generation capabilities and marks a major leap forward in SJVN’s mission to scale its thermal energy portfolio, ensuring reliable and efficient electricity to meet surging national demands.
