SJVN Powers Up 2nd Unit of Naitwar Mori Hydropower Project

SJVN recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully synchronizing the second unit of the 60 MW Naitwar Mori hydroelectric project (NMHEP) with the national grid, meeting all regulatory criteria. Situated along the Tons River in Uttarkashi district, Uttarakhand, the NMHEP operates as a run-of-the-river project, featuring two 30 MW generating units.

It is anticipated to produce an estimated 265.5 million units of electricity on an annual basis. To facilitate efficient power evacuation, SJVN has constructed a 37-kilometer-long 220 kV transmission line spanning from Bainol to Snail.

This initiative is poised to significantly contribute to the overall development of the region, fostering infrastructure growth and fostering employment opportunities.

SJVN remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the government's energy objectives, aiming to achieve a capacity of 12,000 MW by 2026 and striving towards a collective vision of attaining an installed capacity of 50,000 MW by 2040.
