Kirloskar Solar has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop 5 MW of solar power in Central Kerala through a strategic partnership with Kochi-based GSL Energy Solutions. The collaboration targets six districts—Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Kollam— and is projected to involve an investment of ₹25 crore for the 2024-25 financial year.
Jackson Mathew, CEO of GSL Energy Solutions, emphasized that the partnership will span both commercial and residential solar projects, leveraging Kerala’s sunny climate and available government subsidies. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy currently offers subsidies of ₹78,000 for residential solar systems ranging from 3 kW to 10 kW, which Mathew believes will further stimulate local solar adoption.
Suresh Simpson, General Manager (South) at Kirloskar Solar, highlighted that the initiative will provide a comprehensive range of solar solutions, including dedicated after-sales support. The goal is to deliver a proven return on investment within five years of installation, ensuring long-term value for customers.
This partnership underscores Kirloskar Solar's commitment to expanding its footprint in the renewable energy sector and enhancing solar energy infrastructure in Kerala. The combined expertise of Kirloskar Solar and GSL Energy Solutions is expected to drive significant growth in the region’s solar capacity.
