Southern Railway’s ₹39Cr Spark: New Traction Contract Awarded

Southern Railway has awarded a contract valued at ₹39.26 crore for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 25kV Traction Overhead Equipment (OHE) for the proposed track doubling between Thiruvananthapuram (inclusive) and Eraniel (exclusive) stations. The scope of work also includes modifications to the existing OHE infrastructure within the Thiruvananthapuram division.

This project is expected to improve rail capacity and operational efficiency in the region, enabling smoother and faster train services along the Thiruvananthapuram–Eraniel corridor.
