As a leading global provider of ophthalmic lenses, frames, and sunglasses, EssilorLuxottica recently introduced Stellest, an innovative myopia control lens specially designed for children. To make such solutions more accessible, the company is collaborating with CooperVision and has plans to unveil a second myopia control lens in the latter half of the upcoming year.
In pursuit of business growth in India, EssilorLuxottica aims to strengthen its commitment to product development, geographical expansion, and channel optimization. Currently, the company manages the coating of RX lenses, commonly referred to as prescription sunglasses. Operating under various brands such as Crizal, Eyezen, Stellest, Ray-Ban, Oakley, Kodak Lens, Nikon, Armani Exchange, Vogue Eyewear, Burberry, Chanel, Coach, Miu Miu, among others, the luxury eyewear-maker has a robust presence in the Indian market.
The company's manufacturing operations in India are diverse. Firstly, it boasts a frame manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, which produces renowned brands like Ray-Ban, primarily catering to the domestic market, including the Indian military. Secondly, with over 85 labs across the country, EssilorLuxottica focuses on lens coating, producing nearly a million lenses annually to meet the growing demand in the region.
