Steel Exchange India Forges Ahead into ₹65,000Cr Amaravati Project

Steel Exchange India Ltd, one of South India’s leading integrated steel manufacturers and the maker of SIMHADRI TMT rebars, has received formal approval from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) for the use of its steel products in the Amaravati Capital City development programme.

The approval covers multiple grades of reinforcement steel, including Fe550, Fe500D, Fe550D, and Fe550D CRS, enabling the company to participate in the supply of materials for ongoing and future infrastructure projects under the ambitious Amaravati development initiative.

According to the company, the approval has been communicated to major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and construction firms engaged in the execution of large-scale projects within the capital city region. This is expected to enhance the company’s visibility and strengthen its position within the Amaravati infrastructure ecosystem.

The recognition reinforces Steel Exchange India’s credentials as a qualified supplier for high-quality infrastructure and construction applications, while opening opportunities to participate in one of Andhra Pradesh’s largest urban development programmes.

The approval comes as work progresses on the approximately ₹65,000 crore Amaravati Capital City project, which is being developed as a modern administrative, economic, and urban centre with extensive investments in roads, public utilities, government infrastructure, and commercial developments.

With APCRDA approval in place, Steel Exchange India is well-positioned to emerge as a key primary-source supplier for the project, potentially benefiting from sustained demand throughout multiple phases of construction. The development is expected to strengthen the company’s presence in the public infrastructure segment while supporting its long-term growth in the regional steel market.
