Summit Success: Odisha Greenlights Major Pharma & Device Parks

Odisha has emerged as a leading investment destination in the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors, having received investment proposals worth ₹7,043 crore through the signing of 45 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at the first Odisha Pharma Summit 2025.

Of the total proposed investment, firm commitments amounting to ₹6,263 crore are expected to generate 38,406 employment opportunities. In addition, 24 investment intents valued at ₹780 crore are projected to create jobs for 6,240 people. The signed MoUs include 32 agreements in the pharmaceuticals segment involving ₹2,681 crore, 12 agreements in the medical devices segment worth ₹582 crore, and one agreement for the development of an industrial park with an investment of ₹3,000 crore.

The Odisha Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Policy 2025 is designed to foster an innovation-driven and employment-oriented life sciences ecosystem in the state. Highlighting the policy’s focus, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said it offers best-in-class incentives and streamlined implementation. The Summit also witnessed the unveiling of two new industrial parks—one dedicated to pharmaceuticals in the Khurda–Nayagarh region and another for medical devices in Khurda.
