Suzlon Group, one of India’s leading renewable energy solutions providers, has secured its sixth wind energy project of approximately 100 MW from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL). This marks the company’s fourth public sector undertaking (PSU) order in FY26.
The project will supply clean energy to support the decarbonization of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant in Nandurbar, Maharashtra.
Under the contract, Suzlon will install 47 S120 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a capacity of 2.1 MW. The scope of work includes end-to-end execution—ranging from supply and installation to erection, commissioning, and comprehensive operations and maintenance services.
Suzlon continues to play a significant role in Maharashtra’s renewable energy landscape, with over 2.2 GW of installed capacity and an estimated market share of around 38% in the state.
Commenting on the development, CEO Ajay Kapur stated that the order reinforces Suzlon’s long-standing partnership with GAIL, which spans over 15 years, and marks its first project together in Maharashtra. He further noted that since Suzlon’s re-entry into the PSU segment two years ago—beginning with a 1.1 GW order from NTPC Limited—PSU and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects now constitute over 64% of the company’s order book, highlighting its expanding footprint in India’s renewable energy sector.
